MADISON HOUSE

This 60,000 sq ft residence is defined by extraordinary scale, soaring 40 ft ceilings and an 80 ft-long principal living space. The interior was totally reconfigured, some of the existing bedrooms were removed to create an expansive open-plan home and the roof terrace was rebuilt from the ground up. New flooring, lighting and plumbing established a clean architectural framework, allowing the building's volume, the dramatic proportions and the city views to take centre stage.

The design balanced curved forms and a warmer palette with an eclectic mix of vintage furniture, contemporary pieces and art. A grand gallery-like entrance leads into the kitchen, dining and living areas, where a suspended vintage bubble chair draws the eye upwards to the original beams. A mezzanine provides a secluded guest or relaxation space, while the bedroom suite connects to a spectacular 60 ft roof terrace. Designed as both a private retreat and a place for gathering, the home is layered with character yet remains flexible, welcoming and deeply personal.
